GCC Club Day – Sunday 17th July

Our annual celebration of cricket at Goring!

There will be an intra-club match for everyone to get involved in – this is in the traditional Overs vs Under format – so a chance for the younger players to triumph against some of the more experienced players. The exact age split between overs and under will depend on the age profile of those who sign-up.

We also intend to hold a Women’s & Girls match during the afternoon.

Exact timings and format will be finalised at our committee meeting this Thursday once we know level of interest – so it would be really helpful if you could complete your availability on Teamo in the next few days.

As it’s the Club Day, there will be food provided and no match fees – so why wouldn’t you want to get involved?!

The Boundary Bar is back!!!

After the phenomenal success of the launch weekend, Dunc and Jamie will be back with the Boundary Bar on Friday 15th (for football club game) and the GCC Club Day. This is a very exciting initiative for the club and I encourage you all to try it out over that weekend. It is a cashless bar, so you just need to bring along your phones/cards/watches to try out some of the high quality products on offer.

Tour 2022: Chittlehampton 7th-9th August

This year’s UK tour will be to the promised-land of cream teas and glorious sunshine, North Devon, and all are welcome! We will play three games, details as follows:

Sunday 7 August: vs Dave Reeds XI for the Elworthy-Jeffries trophy starting @ 2pm

Monday 8 August: vs Chittlehampton CC t20 starting @ 6pm

Tuesday 9 August: vs XXXXX CC starting @ 1pm. We plan to arrange this game at a location on the way home from Devon (probably around the Wiltshire area) so if anyone wants to play in this match but can’t come on the full tour please do say.

Accommodation for Sunday and Monday nights has been arranged in Chittlehampton at the Shirehorse Centre where we will no doubt be magnificently looked after as usual by Fiona. Accommodation is £55 per night including breakfast. Whilst it is each person’s own responsibility to arrange travel to and from Devon, there are usually spaces in cars available.

Please confirm if you would like to come along. A number of people have already expressed interest (including almost unbelievably two umpires comprising our Chairman and President) and we would like to firm up numbers for accommodation/teams etc. Please email Tour Daddy (and the only player to twice hit his first ball on tour for 6 – in both directions at the Chittle Bowl ©) at

Looking forward to a great few days.
